Research and clinical fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, bone marrow transplantation, 1980
Appointment as senior physician at the Department of Medicine II, University Hospital and head of a specialty ward for hematology/oncology, 1981
Habilitation in Internal Medicine, 1982
Appointment as §31 Professor for Internal Medicine with specialization in Oncology and iHematology,1984
Appointment as Head of the Department of Medicine I, at the Wilhelminen Hospital, Vienna, 1990
