Patient Information

The diagnosis of cancer, of a precancerous process, or even of a benign blood disease or tumor formation can be a significant life experience. The knowledge that these diseases are increasingly treatable or even curable makes dealing with the problem easier but is not a guarantee for an optimal treatment outcome. To achieve this, a close and trusting relationship between the person who is affected and the caregivers is needed.

What can patients do to improve the quality of their care?

Prepare for the discussion with your doctor:

  1. Bullet    Take a person who is close to you and enjoys your trust along to your appointment.

  2. Bullet    Bring the following items with you:

  3.      Your medical history listed as a chronology of the onset and course of the complaints
    •     Test results (if any)
    •     Treatments received

  4. Bullet    Decide what questions you would like to have clarified in the consultation and write them down.
